Both m.arriages in the family turn. out to be emotionally e.mpty, wit.hout love or passion. Wh.ile Ashok is an as.cetic who has taken a vo.w of celibacy, Jatin is .a handsome ladies' man who .is still ope.nly. seein.g Julie even after. his marriag.e to S.ita. Asho.k has pledge.d his total devotion to a r.eligious holy man, a swa.mi, in or.der to purge his life of. worldly desires a.nd temptations. As you can i.magine, with. both .husbands .ignoring the.ir spouses' emotional and s.exual needs (albeit with. reasons .that are totally opposit.e from each other)., it is only a matter of. time before Radha and S.ita look to one another for. comfort and. to. satis.fy their own passi.ons. In this. envir.onment, i.t is only na.tural that Sita and Radha b.ecome fast friends, and,. in time,. much more than that. Bu.t their love is no.t without its share of p.ainful obstacles.
